LFYH Equipment Rental

We know that getting started in hockey can feel overwhelming. Between learning what equipment is needed and the cost of purchasing it all, the upfront investment can be intimidating—especially for families new to the sport.

One of Little Falls Youth Hockey’s goals is to make hockey as affordable and accessible as possible. Our Equipment Rental Program helps reduce the cost of participation by providing safe, functional equipment for players who are just getting started or who quickly outgrow their gear. Rather than purchasing an entirely new set of equipment every season, families can rent many of the essential items at a fraction of the cost.

LFYH primarily maintains rental equipment for 10U/Squirt players and younger, where players typically outgrow equipment the fastest. We may also have donated equipment available for older players; however, inventory is limited and cannot be guaranteed. If we do not have the appropriate size or a specific piece of equipment your player needs, families may need to purchase that item independently.

Our hope is that this program helps remove one of the biggest barriers to youth hockey and allows more kids the opportunity to enjoy the game.

Equipment Rental Fees

The LFYH Equipment Rental Program costs $50 per player each season.

When all rental equipment is returned by the scheduled equipment return date in good condition, your entire $50 rental fee will be refunded!

If equipment is not returned at the end of the season, you will not receive your refund and will also be responsible for the replacement cost of any missing equipment.

If your child outgrows a piece of equipment during the season or something breaks during normal use, we’ll exchange it at no additional cost. Simply contact our Facilities/Equipment Manager to arrange a replacement.

Families who wish to keep rental equipment over the summer for camps or other hockey activities may do so. However, summer rentals are not eligible for the $50 refund. All equipment must still be returned before the following season. Equipment that is not returned will be charged at replacement cost.

For the equipment not provided through rental program, or if you’d rather purchase your own equipment, used equipment is often available at Play It Again Sports (Baxter or St. Cloud), SidelineSwap, or Craigslist. New equipment can be purchased through the arena pro shop, Pure Hockey, Scheels, Dick’s Sporting Goods, or Play It Again Sports.
