Locker Room Monitoring
Minnesota Hockey requires same gender locker room monitors (LRM) anytime players are in a locker room including all practices, games, scrimmages, etc. Scheduling of locker room monitors is up to each team. Some teams have a few designated locker room monitors, some teams have the coaches handle the responsibility. No matter the plan, the team should have a documented process each season.
If you have been approved to move forward with being a locker room monitor, you will need to complete the below steps before you can act as a monitor. Once you have completed the following items, the LFYH Registrar will notify you once everything comes back as complete.
LOCKER ROOM MONITOR REQUIREMENTS:
1.) You must register with USA Hockey as a volunteer and obtain your USA Hockey number. (save your number as you will need it later for SafeSport training!)

2.) You must complete a USA Hockey background screening every two years (save confirmation for submitting for reimbursement)

3.) You must complete the SafeSport training. Year 1 is a full course, years 2-4 are refresher years. After year 4 you start the cycle all over again.

4.) email LFYHregistrate@gmail.com and provide your USA Hockey number and let them know that you have completed the background check and SafeSport training. You can also submit your background check confirmation / receipt for reimbursement. The Registrar will run your USA Hockey number through the system and when you come back as cleared, they will let you know. Only at that time are you cleared to work with your Team Manager on fulfilling shifts as a LRM.
